Liquid Apple Pie Drink Recipe

I attend many out door events during the colder months and was introduced to this tasty twist that I call liquid apple pie. Every fall I make a batch and refrigerate it to have on hand for those chilly nights or an after dinner delight. It is very simple to make and requires only a few ingredients. One hot cup or cold glass is enough to warm you up, so drink carefully.

You will need:

  • A large kettle
  • Ladle
  • Funnel
  • 2, 1 gallon containers (or keep the juice and apple cider ones)
  • 4 cups of sugar
  • 1 gallon apple juice
  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 bottle of rum or vodka

Directions:

Over medium heat, combine juice, 1/2 gallon of the cider, sugar and cinnamon sticks, stirring well. Let it come to a boil and then reduce the heat. Let simmer uncovered for about 2 hours. Remove from heat and let cool. Add the vodka or rum, stirring well. Transfer the liquid with a funnel to the containers and seal tight. Refrigerate until ready to use. The liquid apple pie can either be served straight out of the refrigerator or heated for a warm treat. Be very careful with consumption as this apple pie can be very potent.
